Creative Genius
I am Michelle Felder, creative genius & CEO. Since 1994, my freshman year at Case Western Reserve University, I’ve been developing, planning and executing events of all kinds. In 2005, while working in corporate America, I took my passion for perfectly planned occasions to the next level with the creation of Felder & Co., an event design company specializing in social events and weddings. In 2008, I fully realized that styling events is definitely my niche and I took the leap to become a full time entrepreneur and expanded my services to styling clients' homes and gifts. It started with an impromptu door-to-door marketing campaign. I wanted my neighbors’ events, homes and holiday gifts to be as beautiful as the visions I had in my head.
So here I am today, founder and CEO of Style My Event, Gorgeous Giving & Gorgeous Living, three divisions of Felder & Co.,llc. a trendsetting luxury events and interior style firm whose mission is to attract, impress and retain sophisticated customers who value beautiful presentations and amazing service and newly added, the Silent Bell, a luxury lifestyle management and concierge service.
On the heels of the 2008 Presidential election, I was selected as the State of Ohio delegate to the Obama for America Legacy Conference in Chicago, IL to discuss the future of the administrative and volunteer efforts established during the campaign and how to best support the President’s agenda. In 2009 my interest in political campaigns was noticed and I was asked to manage the campaign of Judge Michelle D. Earley, Cleveland Municipal Courts. During the 2008 election cycle I managed the campaign of Terri Hamilton Brown for Cuyahoga County Executive. Currently managing U.S. Representative of the 11th District of Ohio, Marcia L Fudge's campaign for re-election.
And I’m not through yet! I run a seasonal boutique during the holidays at Crocker Park in Westlake, Ohio; and have a permanent boutique inside a local salon, Kinky Curly Straight, in South Euclid, Ohio. In the pipeline are more fabulous ideas, the opening of our very own retail and design boutique as well as plans to develop a high design affordable table top & décor line for mass merchandise, specialty event rentals and signature gift wrapping designs for luxury department stores.
I'm deeply committed to my city and the people within my community, I’m a member of the Junior League of Cleveland currently serving as Chair of the 100th Anniversary Special Events Committee, Board Member and Programs Committee Chair of the African American Alumni Association of Case Western Reserve University, member of the President’s Council 2011 class of Emerging Entrepreneurs and a regular volunteer with E City Schools and The Cleveland Food Bank.
If I could have only three artists on my iPod, I’d have Michael Jackson, Jay Z and Celene Deon. Alaskan king crab legs and fruit smoothies [not together] are my favorite edible indulgences and allthough he is no longer here, I love my Yorkie, Solomon!
